A beautiful old Andalusian estate, including chapel, large patio and stables was transformed into a fantastic hideaway. And only half an hour from Granada. Spanish life is delightful at this Cortijo and I definitely recommend spending a few days here, to unwind but also to explore the beautiful surroundings!
Quitting a well-paying job with 2 small children and buying a remote Cortijo (Andalusian farmhouse) to start a small-scale hotel there… many will call you crazy. But that didn’t stop Silvia and Eilko, they wanted to change their lives and it was time to make Spanish dreams come true. And so they turned a beautiful old Andalusian estate, including chapel, large patio and stables into a fantastic Hideaway.
Just the way there is promising… surrounded by rolling countryside with endless olive trees, you follow the dirt road to a small settlement, destination reached! It really breathes the atmosphere of the Andalusian countryside while Granada is only a short half-hour drive away. You can also see the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada in the distance.
Endless olive trees!
What a wonderful place! The welcome is warm and you immediately see that Silvia and Eilko have an eye for detail and go out of their way to make their guests feel comfortable.
The rooms are very different, with many beautiful authentic elements combined with contemporary comfort.
There is a nice refreshing pool with sun loungers, lots of spots in the garden and by the patio to ‘chill out’ and a good restaurant where a 3-course dinner is served every evening so you don’t have to leave the house! And on top of that, delicious wine is served, Eilko’s great passion, so he has put together a wine list that connoisseurs even make a special detour for!
Spanish life is delightful at this Cortijo and I definitely recommend you to settle down here for a few days, to unwind but also to explore the beautiful surroundings… because apart from Granada, the lesser-known places like Jaén, Baeza and Úbeda are also definitely recommended!
