This Local Hideaway is a delightful retreat and a perfect base for exploring Marrakech. It is a true “home away from home” with a sustainable purpose. A beautiful garden, a lovely pool, good restaurant and super friendly staff are the fine extras! A Hideaway with a soul!
In 2001, Lindsay and Paul were looking for a “home away from home” outside the UK, a nice place under the sun. And so they found a beautiful “country house” with a huge garden just outside Marrakech. Unusual, exotic and off the beaten track, because back then Marrakech was by no means as crowded and developed as it is today. But what a shame it is to keep such a nice place exclusively for yourself. And so the idea of a small-scale hotel was soon born, with just 3 rooms, 2 suites and a separate pavilion with 2 bedrooms, a living room and private pool.
Important to Lindsay and Paul was that it would be sustainable… in every way. And so the staff are well looked after with good working conditions and no plastic is used for drinking water and bath products. Sheets and towels that need replacing are taken to charity and cooking is done with organic ingredients from the garden as much as possible. This is how they try to make a difference.
What a lovely Hideaway this is, outside the hustle and bustle of Marrakech (but a transfer gets you there in no time), truly a place with a soul. The garden is beautiful and a feast for the senses with fragrant flowers, intoxicating orange blossom and leafy shady spots.

There is a refreshing pool, a hammam, beautiful rooms where you can have a drink, read a book or play a game. In addition, there is a good restaurant where you can have delicious evening meals at beautifully laid tables. Breakfast is also a treat! The rooms are comfortable with very good beds and nice bathrooms.
But with that, it is “the attention to detail” and the personality of the staff that really makes it a “home away from home”. This Hideaway is a lovely retreat and a perfect base to explore Marrakech.
