I visit in Hasselt the beautiful old mansion of Ann and Liesbeth…. Close friends for years, their tasteful boutique hotel is a joint project. The old building is beautiful and breathes the atmosphere of days gone by with contemporary comfort… the rooms are very stylishly decorated with beautiful vintage and fantastic linen pillows and woolen plaids. Lovely shower products by L:A Bruket! In the morning a lovely fresh breakfast get you started! This is the perfect Hideaway in off the beaten path Hasselt!
For Local Hideaways, I thought it appropriate to look for a few Belgian city Hideaways off the beaten track. Something a bit different from the usual suspects like Antwerp, Ghent, Brussels, etc. And so I visited two surprisingly fun cities: Hasselt and Mechelen. Both very different… but both guarantee a lovely (weekend) break. And of course you sleep fantastic in the right Local Hideaway… what else?!

Tastefull B&B
There are about eight rooms in two properties. Three are family rooms with room for 4 and there is also a very spacious room with kitchenette… perfect for a longer stay. In the morning, you’ll be spoiled with a nice fresh breakfast, perfect start to the day. The ladies know Hasselt very well and will recommend the best shops (perfect shopping in Hasselt!), museums, galleries and restaurants… by the way, I’ve never seen so many (good) restaurants in a few square metres. Hasselt is for foodies! In short, this is the perfect Hideaway in Hasselt!
