This imposing hotel in Berlin’s Charlottenburg district is a 120-year-old women’s prison with courthouse. It has been transformed in 11 years (!) by a family of architects into a fantastic minimalistic design hotel . Eye-catching… and what work has been put into keeping the soul of the building intact but making it a comfortable and beautiful hotel. This Hideaway is a must for design lovers! And I can tell you from experience… it is absolutely no punishment to sleep here!
This Hideaway is a monumental building with enormous grandeur, the old Stadtbad – public bath – dating from 1902. In 2011, the owners of the Language Centre behind it seized the opportunity to restore the bath and breathe new life into the building. The building still exudes the nostalgic atmosphere of the early last century but has cleverly integrated all modern requirements. The various rooms (including family rooms and flats) are very comfortable and little details have been thought of.
Just north of the busy kitesurfing spot Paje, Dutch Maarten and José have built their tropical paradise on a tranquil picture perfect white sand beach. Masterpiece is the impressive restaurant and bar area, by their own design… spacious and unconventional. Just four large villas (and a 10-bed house planned for mid-2023), with 2 or 3 bedrooms, all with private terraces and roof terraces with plunge pool. The large pool and beach garden with sunbeds ensure you have all the space you need. The staff are super attentive, go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. This Hideaway has all the ingredients for a relaxing beach holiday with the family.
This Hideaway is a contemporary place and very suitable for people who like a bit more hustle and bustle. A lovely hotel with a lively restaurant as its beating heart where islanders also like to come for drinks and delicious (mostly Italian) dishes. Child friendly and bang on a beautiful tropical beach.
