Liz, Alex and their young family were looking for a ‘slow living’ lifestyle in southern Portugal. They ended up in a lovely spot with a beautiful garden and a refreshing swimming pool, where they started a small B&B. It’s contemporary, but not aimed at hipsters or influencers; it’s for people who want to slow down and connect. The perfect place to discover the beautiful surroundings, or simply do nothing at all. A lovely Local Hideaway where Liz and Alex’s attention to detail makes you feel right at home.
In their search for the right place for their new life, Jack and Walter found a beautiful old building in Olhão (Eastern Algarve) where a notable doctor once lived with his family. After an intense renovation, they were finally able to open the doors of their fantastic hotel: an inspiring place where ten rooms, a roof terrace with a small pool, a coffee shop with the most delicious French pastries and a gallery guarantee a wonderful stay. Not to mention the breakfast… divine!!! A great addition to my beloved Olhão!
A hidden gem, adults only, in the lovely town of Boliqueime… this small-scale boutique hotel meets the Local Hideaways wishes. Only 7 rooms, a pittoresque courtyard where a delicious dinner is served in the summer months and brunch in the other months. Beautiful art by Meinke Flesseman (a personal fave) decorates the walls. Boliqueime is a lovely nice town in the Central Algarve with authentic restaurants/bars and a few great shops.
