Whether you like traditional or contemporary… at these 2 riads in the heart of Marrakech’s medina (old city centre), it has both! In fact, they are 2 riads by the same owners and are a stone’s throw from each other. Alexandra and Ahmed started with an atmospheric traditional riad, perfectly located in a quiet street in the middle of the medina, and recently got the opportunity to open a second riad. They soon decided, this second location had to be a good counterpart to the other and so a modern but again atmospheric interior was chosen. There is more room here to accommodate families (with super cute family rooms) and/or (retreat) groups. The rooms are comfortable, the roof terraces are a lovely “escape” from the city bustle and the staff are super friendly and service-minded. Whether you go for traditional or modern… these Local Hideaways are highly recommended!
The oldest riad in Morocco is situated in the medina – old city centre – of my beloved Essaouira. This place oozes the spirit of the city, the staff are super friendly, the rooms are comfortable and the food is delicious. Bonus: it’s a year round destination due to a micro climate with makes it pleasantly warm.
A magnificent villa with riad, all built of the traditional red stucco and surrounded by an enormous garden. It’s situated 30 minutes from the fascinating bustle of Marrakech which makes it the perfect place to experience best of both worlds: space and tranquility vs. the hectic city life of Marrakech! Also a great place to bring your kids.
Is it possible to fall instantly in love with a hotel and its surroundings? It turns out it is! Even though I have visited some of the most beautiful parts of the world, the Atlas Mountains and its foothills have me completely spellbound. Only half an hour from Marrakech you will find this enchanting Hideaway: “Rock the Kasbah”!
