It creates a mysterious atmosphere and the village looks a bit like a film set. The biggest plus of this hotel is its own thermal springs (both indoors and outdoors), which guests can use 24 hours a day.
It had been on our travel wish list for some time, and now it is actually in the Local Hideaways collection: the Azores! This Portuguese archipelago has it all: a touch of the exotic, overwhelming nature, fairy-tale waterfalls, hot springs, beaches, surf, a sea full of whales and dolphins, a choice of hiking trails, 4 seasons in one day, delicious food and ditto wine… all this in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean between the east coast USA and mainland Portugal!

The hotel is centrally located in Furnas and reflects the volcanic environment. Rooms are comfortable and most have a somewhat basic bathroom. But there is also a suite and a master suite. New are the Terrace rooms which have a private terrace with plunge pool.
It’s steaming and bubbling everywhere all around
The biggest plus of this hotel is its own thermal springs (both indoors and outdoors), which guests can use 24 hours a day. There is also a fantastic spa and a good restaurant. Various activities are organised daily and the friendly staff can give you the best tips for exploring the area. A visit to Furnas is not to be missed during your trip and a stay of one or two nights is highly recommended.
