Actually, I wanted to keep this place all to myself…for it is Paradise! But thankfully, this Hideaway only has a limited number of apartments and the beach will therefore never be crowded. Travel light is the advise… just bring your beach essentials and your snorkelgear while you have the most amazing reef just in front of you!
One of Tulum’s first accommodations is still the place to go! A laid back beach hotel which has kept its authenticity and cool vibes over the years. It’s hidden in a small bay away from the crowds and is a true beach oasis… ‘Barefoot on the beach’ is the motto, the restaurant offers a great menu and tempting drinks, just go with the flow!
Admittedly, it takes some effort this Local Hideaway, but it’s definitely worth it: this is off the beaten track Mexico, hardly any tourists. Get in touch with local Mexican farm life and stay in a comfortable family-run hotel. The Maya ruins of Palenque, Bonampak and Yaxchilán are only one hour drive so you will have best of both worlds!
I instantly fell in love with this Mexican City, it has the ideal mix of authenticity and modernisation. A perfect place to lay your head down is this ‘home away from home’ in the middle of the city centre. Only 6 rooms, comfortable and cozy. Warm hosts, a hearty breakfast and perfect insider tips add up to your experience… I left my heart in Oaxaca!
