Off the beaten track Algarve… The olives are being harvested as we drive along a dirt track to our cottage. Formerly the farm workers lived here, now the 3 cottages and the main house are transformed into spacious holiday homes, white plastered with soft green shutters and a large, deep purple bougainvillea growing along the covered terrace. The houses are fully equipped and have a private swimming pool. Here you can relax and get a glimpse of authentic Portugal away from the hustle and bustle, a wonderful rural escape.
This authentic estate has been in the Caldas de Vasconcellos family for 300 years and is still fully operational! Formerly the farm workers lived here, now the 3 cottages and the main house are transformed into spacious holiday homes, white plastered with soft green shutters and a large, deep purple pink bougainvillea growing along the covered terrace.
Each cottage has a private swimming pool with sun loungers. The atmosphere is charming and rustic. The cottages are fully equipped, well equipped kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher, comfi beds, spacious bathroom with the delicious La-Eva bath products. The wifi is fast, but actually this location is perfect for a digital detox: reading books and staring at the sunset over the land.
Wine and Olives!
Since a few years, the grapes are no longer sold but they make their own delicious wines. Almost every day there is a wine tasting (in good weather outside under the impressive 2000 year old olive tree) with home-made typical snacks from the Algarve, the so-called petiscos.
Here you can relax and get a glimpse of authentic Portugal away from the hustle and bustle, a fine rural escape. But the beach is also a 20-minute drive away and the historic town of Silves is nearby … for the much needed variation! This Hideaway is also the perfect rural location for a wedding or other festive occasion.
