The Catalan city of Girona is one of my personal favourites. It is a small, vibrant city with a rich history and so much to discover in terms of gastronomy. It still has a strong Spanish character and is not overrun by tourists. It is also surrounded by the most beautiful scenery: the spectacular coastline of the Costa Brava and the authentic inland region of Baix Empordá.
The only thing missing in this city was a contemporary luxury hotel, and with the arrival of this fantastic Local Hideaway, that gap has now been filled! It is the perfect hotel for the discerning traveller who wants to experience the city from a special place that is both authentic and modern.
The surrounding area of Granada is a fairytale of pretty villages and stunning countryside, a true paradise for walkers and nature lovers. A perfect base for both visiting the city (half an hour’s drive) and enjoying the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada is this charming boutique eco-hotel. Beautiful, comfortable rooms, a lovely garden with a refreshing pool and a delicious, super-sized breakfast.
A beautiful old Andalusian estate, including chapel, large patio and stables was transformed into a fantastic hideaway. And only half an hour from Granada. Spanish life is delightful at this Cortijo and I definitely recommend spending a few days here, to unwind but also to explore the beautiful surroundings!
Beautiful luxury city palace situated in the lovely Andalusian city of Malaga. This hotel ticks all the Local Hideaways boxes! Perfect location, tastefully elegant rooms, a fantastic restaurant (also open to non-guests), and you start the day with a delicious breakfast. Last but definitely not least: friendly and inspired staff! In short, the perfect place for a citybreak in Malaga.
